Today we had last review of the Spring term.

Our guest critics were Juliet Davis from the Welsh School of Architecture and Dejan Mrdja. Dejan is a practicing architect and tutor in Writtle College and Central Saint Martins in London, and he was guest lecturer in AA and Goldsmith. Juliet is a senior lecturer at the Welsh School of Architecture.
Our work was still reflective of our time in Barcelona, rooted in the participation process and the precedents of our trip, however the velocity of our working pace must now increase. Whilst our multiscaler approach is continuing, a refinement of the architectural scale and its investigation should now be our priority. With our narrative defined, circulation, contextual interaction and functional process should now be the key drivers in our designs.
One key shortfall in many of our problems is integrating the surrounding community, which in essence, should be one of the key stakeholders in each of of our schemes. The interaction between the existing and the evolving, the existing community and the introduced players. Offering opportunities of engagements, through workshops, jobs, skill sharing, resource sharing and communication.
Another key question was that of how are projects are key to Can Ricart, and how can they become identifiable to the area. Which would insight a new identity to the site which is specific the place, but a strategy which could permeate other areas or places.
Concluding, we all had constructive critique which will allow us to move forward with our thesis'. Each critic was mindful and generous with their comments and suggestions. We now have five weeks until our next crib and it's now all-systems-go.
