Today Myself, Becky and Emma attended the Barcelona Makers Faire 2016 at the Cosmo Caixa Science Museum. On offer was an array of enterprising ideas to promote imagination and creativity whilst learning new skills and ideas at all levels.

Interaction was enouraged in all forms of making from Music to Textiles with hundreds of gadgets and gizmos set up for enjoyment. 3D printing was the theme of the day with hundreds of self made printers manufacturing a vast array of products, whilst Music Engineers pioneerd new methods of sounds production, turning everyday objects such as a biscuit tin or a milk carton into a musical instrument.

We were lucky enough to partake in our own workshop where we made a bags from recycled fabrics. All materials were cut from a laser cutter with each bag can be put together in a DIY fashion. The file is available to download for free to encourage people to start manufacturing their own products.

Here are some examples of the finished products:

A huge thank you to our friends from FabLab Institue of Advanced Architecture of Catalunya who provided us with the equipment, skill and know-how to produce these fashionable and functional rucksacks!
