Today we were visited by Giulia Fioccia and Lorenzo Romito from Stalker group, Rome, and Oscar Brito from Central Saint Martins, London, for our interim crit. It was not a typical morning before a crit as we tried to work out the opening time and location of the local stationary shop to print our drawings.
We all agree the critics were some of the best we have individually ever had. The structure was slightly different to usual too as we had 15 minutes group presentations of our urban analysis followed by 15 minutes of the individual presentations for each member of the group, interspersed with a little Spanish translation. This generated an intense debate, which was appreciated for the informative advice and astute insights. Our individual projects will benefit in the following weeks from the days comments.
We were lucky enough to be joined later by Carlos Sala and Relja Ferusic from WSA/ETSAB who joined the panel for the final crits. A Spanish lunch at 3pm was followed by a more informal afternoon crit session which included members of the Taula Eix Pere IV. It was interesting to discuss our schemes with local residents from a much more realistic point of view after arriving at new architectural direction in the morning.
