Bogatell - from a local point of view

Today Jordi and Gemma gave us a tour of the bottom half of Pere IV, exploring the area around Bogatell. We find these tours so interesting to understand the area from a local point of view. We lived, studied, explored, questioned the area over and over yet, with 10 minutes and a few anecdotes walking down a street, we gained a much deeper understanding of the area, the change in building use over time and the evolving change in residents needs and requirements. What is apparent from these exchanges is how to really know the area, you need to know it from a local’s point of view.

Various pit stops along the way explored various themes of our individual projects. We visited the shop of L’Estoc which will be explored in a further blog post where local disabled people make beautiful wooden furniture out of recycled materials. We also visited a local architect who is part of the Taula Eix Pere IV Urban Commission where some beautiful Catalan vaults adorned the ceiling.
